What’s your favourite book?

Would you like to design a cover which tells the story as you see it?

It can be a happy story, a sad story, a true-life story - a real book, or one you have just made up. 

Design a cover for your favourite book or a book suggested by your teacher / leader. 

Choose your colours to match the story - should it be bright & colourful, dark and scary, wet and windy, or something else?

The winner will have their design scanned and printed onto durable high-quality paper and bound onto the cover of an A5 hardback blank notebook made from good quality art paper. Inside will be a special dedication to the winner.

Rules

All entries should be A4 size and portrait orientation.

Only children in school years 1 to 5 on 12th September 2025 from Southam and surrounds are eligible to enter.

Judges will be looking for:

• imagination and originality

• use of colour

• link to the book title

Judges will be the Southam Book Festival organising committee and their decision is final.

The contestant's name, age, school (or youth organisation) and the book title should be written on the back in pencil. Make sure your writing doesn't show through and spoil the picture on the front!

Closing date for entries is October 1st.

Entries will either be collected from the nominated coordinator or can be posted in a collection box in the Graham Adams Centre reception.
